Primary Purpose:
To serve as the Superintendent's senior coordination officer for communications, cabinet alignment, community relations, and strategic initiatives. The position helps ensure that the Superintendent's priorities are communicated clearly, assigned appropriately, monitored consistently, and supported across departments and campuses. The Chief of Staff works across cabinet and department lines to improve communication flow, reduce confusion, coordinate executive-level follow-up, and help the district speak with one voice while preserving the direct reporting authority of assigned cabinet leaders.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in educational leadership, communications, public administration, business administration, or related field required. Texas administrator certification preferred. Superintendent certification preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Texas public school district operations, governance, policy, and community relations. Strong executive writing and oral communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex issues into clear recommendations, briefings, and communication plans. Ability to coordinate across departments without disrupting established chains of command. Ability to manage confidential, politically sensitive, legally sensitive, or high-pressure matters. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills. Ability to support public trust through accurate, timely, and professional communication.
Experience:
Minimum of seven years of successful administrative leadership experience. Experience in district-level leadership, communications, cabinet support, or strategic project coordination preferred. Campus leadership experience preferred. Experience supporting a Superintendent, cabinet, or executive leadership team preferred.
