Gutter Installation Business Location:
Western Washington Job Type:
Full-Time Compensation:
Base salary + performance bonus + potential ownership / equity path
Company:
Confidential local gutter installation business represented by SDG Acquisitions About the Opportunity SDG Acquisitions is seeking an entrepreneurial Operating Partner / General Manager to help lead and eventually step into day-to-day operations of an established gutter installation business in Western Washington. This is not a typical employee-manager role. We are looking for someone who wants to build long-term ownership, lead crews, serve customers well, and help carry forward a strong local reputation. The business specializes in residential and contractor-driven gutter installation and has built meaningful momentum through quality workmanship, contractor relationships, and repeat referral activity. The current owner is willing to provide substantial transition support and training for the right person. This may be a strong fit for someone with experience in construction, trades, roofing, exterior services, project management, sales, or field operations who wants a pathway into business ownership without starting from scratch. What You'll Do The Operating Partner / General Manager will be responsible for helping run and grow the business, including: Lead daily field operations for gutter installation projects Coordinate crews, schedules, materials, vendors, and customer expectations Manage job quality, timelines, and follow-through Build and maintain relationships with roofing contractors, builders, homeowners, and referral partners Estimate jobs, communicate with customers, and help close new work Track job profitability, labor efficiency, and operational performance Help improve systems around scheduling, quoting, invoicing, follow-up, and customer communication Work alongside the current owner during a structured transition period Build a culture of reliability, craftsmanship, accountability, and customer service Who We're Looking For The right candidate is likely: Hands-on, practical, and comfortable around construction / field crews Strong with people, communication, and customer service Organized enough to manage schedules, jobs, follow-up, and details Entrepreneurial, but humble enough to learn the business before trying to change it Comfortable working in a small-business environment where the leader wears multiple hats Willing to be in the field, meet customers, solve problems, and earn trust Interested in a long-term operating role, not just a short-term job Capable of eventually becoming the day-to-day leader of the company Helpful Experience Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Gutter installation Roofing Exterior construction Siding, windows, or related trades Residential service businesses Construction project management Crew leadership Estimating or sales Small business operations Direct gutter experience is helpful, but not required if the candidate has strong construction sense, leadership ability, and willingness to learn. What Makes This Different This opportunity includes: Established local business platform Existing customer and contractor relationships Long-term training from the current owner Potential path to performance-based upside and/or ownership participation Support from SDG Acquisitions and its advisory network Opportunity to lead a real operating business rather than simply manage a department Compensation Compensation will be structured based on experience and fit.
The expected package may include:
Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus Vehicle / phone / expense support where appropriate Potential long-term equity or ownership pathway for the right operator Final structure will depend on candidate experience, responsibilities, and transaction structure. Ideal Candidate Profile This role is best suited for someone who says: "I want to run a real local business, lead people well, learn from an experienced owner, and build long-term value." It is probably not the right fit for someone looking for a desk-only role, a passive investment, or a short-term construction management job. Application Questions Please answer the following when applying: What experience do you have in construction, trades, roofing, gutters, or field operations? Have you managed crews, subcontractors, or job schedules before? Are you interested in eventually operating or owning a small business? What part of Western Washington are you based in? Why does this opportunity interest you? Confidentiality This is a confidential operating partner search. Additional business details will be shared with qualified candidates after initial screening and, where appropriate, a confidentiality agreement.
