Managing Director The Managing Director shall serve as the Workforce Manager for MBA Pierce County This is a hands-on, non-exempt position with a flexible schedule
Reports To:
BOLT Board President & Board of Directors and Master Builders Association of Pierce County Executive Officer for administrative support.

Position Summary:
The Managing Director serves as the key staff member of BOLT, responsible for overseeing the administration, program delivery, and strategic outreach of the organization. The Managing Director will focus primarily on facilitating student job placement of individuals enrolled in classroom activities through the Washington Home Builders Foundation (WHBF) Training Academy-Tacoma with BIAW member companies, while supporting workforce development pipelines and community engagement initiatives of MBA Pierce County. 1.
Workforce Pipeline Development:
Build relationships and collaborate with key partners including the Pierce County Skills Center, local school district CTE Boards, SkillsUSA, trade schools, and other educational institutions.

Develop and maintain, in consultation with WHBF, a " Job Placement Bulletin Board" website and with the Workforce Development managers of the MBA of King & Snohomish Counties, Olympia Master Builders and the Kitsap Builders Association. Bulletin Board for placement of graduates of WHBF Training Academy- Tacoma and needs of Workforce by Member Companies.
  • Represent BOLT at relevant career fairs, advisory boards, and workforce-focused events.
  • Support and develop career exploration and pre-apprenticeship opportunities for students interested in the trades. 2. Student & Member Engagement
  • Maintain ongoing communication with students, educators, and member employers to ensure successful placements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between WHBF, BOLT and MBAPC members regarding workforce readiness and student support.
  • Track and report placement outcomes and maintain participant records.
  • Seek out and develop grant opportunities to support the overall mission of BOLT. 3.Outreach, Public Relations & Events
  • Support and promote events that build awareness and community support, such as Dozer Day and other hands-on learning initiatives.
  • Assist in marketing and communications, including social media, newsletters, and storytelling to highlight BOLT's impact.
  • Develop and maintain a register of MBAPC members desiring to volunteer and support the foundation as Ambassadors.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Write and assist with grant applications and reports to secure funding and expand programming.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, coordination, and data tracking.
  • Maintain regular reporting to the BOLT Board of Directors.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board.
Qualifications:
  • Passion for workforce development, education, and community engagement.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both youth and professional audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Experience in workforce development, career counseling, nonprofit administration, or related fields preferred.
  • Grant writing and fundraising experience strongly desired.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible, part-time schedule.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace tools.
Working Conditions:
  • Non-exempt Position, flexible schedule with occasional evenings/weekends
  • Some travel within Pierce County required for meetings, site visits, and events.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. Mileage reimbursement for approved travel.
