Position Summary:
The Grants Manager is responsible for managing the administration of designated grant, contract, and/or special programs. The Grants Coordinator is responsible for planning and reviewing the implementation of grants and monitoring financial and operational status of awards. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares financial reports and invoices on assigned restricted funds Provides financial oversight and guidance to ensure compliance with federal and state regulation Analyzes new grant and contract agreements for reporting information and restrictions Monitors all expenditures made to assigned restricted funds to ensure compliance with federal and state regulation as well as institutional policy Monitor cost sharing commitments Conducts award closeout procedures in a timely manner Provides new Principal Investigator training and conducts meetings with faculty, staff, and other grant personnel to ensure timely and appropriate award spending Maintains positive relationships with faculty and staff in assigned colleges Communicates with sponsors and other external stakeholders regarding the implementation of grant programs Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of grants, contracts, and special funding programs Knowledge of grant implementation, monitoring, and fiscal control practices Knowledge of state budgetary and accounting practices and procedures Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others Ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate grant program compliance Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written technical information and reports Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
