Job Description
Life:
The Animal Assistance & Transport Programs Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of our Animal Assistance, Rescue, and Transport Programs. This role oversees programs that provide critical services to pets and pet owners in need, coordinates animal intake and movement, and strengthens rescue and transport partnerships to help connect animals with appropriate placement opportunities. In this role, you will develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures that improve operational efficiency and expand the impact of AHS services. You will build and maintain strategic local and national partnerships, monitor program performance and capacity, manage budgets and financial reporting, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery. This position also plays an important role in supporting grants and ensuring program compliance while working collaboratively across departments and with community partners. The ideal candidate is a strong, collaborative leader who is passionate about animal welfare and developing high-performing teams. You will recruit, train, coach, and support staff while providing clear leadership and guidance, addressing operational challenges, and ensuring an exceptional experience for both internal and external customers. Strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to innovation, compassion, and excellence are essential to success in this role.Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) certification preferred Valid driver's license 5+ years' experience in animal welfare leadership or related field. Demonstrated track record in leading and developing large teams. Strategic thinker who excels in fast-paced environment and can translate complex concepts into actionable plans and programs. A self-starter who can lead multiple priorities under pressure and lead with a sense of urgency. Critical, creative and innovate thinker is a must. Experience in customer experience, customer lifecycle, CRM. Strong budgeting, performance management, and financial analysis skills Exceptional communication skills with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to occasionally drive an AHS vehicle. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
