https://www.lci.ca.gov/ The Governor's Office of Land Use & Climate Innovation is seeking to hire one student assistant. Under close supervision and in a learner capacity of the Integrated Climate and Resiliency Program (ICARP) Grant Administrator, the ICARP Grant Administrative Student Assistant is responsible to assist in the performance for administrative and analytical support to the administration of the ICARP Grants. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript) or DMV clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department. 25 per hour Minimum Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Preferred Qualifications Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Duties and Responsibilities With guidance, supports the Grant Administrator and ICARP Program Managers with the analytical review and processing of grant agreements and amendments. Process, review, and analyze periodic grant project submittals in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant program guidelines. Assists the Grant Administrator in processing grantee reimbursement invoicing. Provides support to the Grant Administrator in maintaining grant and operational databases. Assists the Grant Administrator in implementing administrative procedures in compliance with LCI contract and travel policies.
Grant Monitoring, Quality Assurance, and Technical Analysis:
Provide detailed review of grant reports and supporting documentation, including performance metrics. Prepares reports of analyses for Grant Administrator and ICARP Program Managers. Supports grantees in meeting performance measurement targets and requirements through technical assistance and document review. Assist the Grant Administrator in producing meeting materials and summarizing information for document composition, reports, and/or presentations. Supports the Grant Administrator in providing trainings to grantees on grant reimbursement processes and grant agreement compliance. Participate as an active member of LCI's Climate team and support LCI cross-agency efforts: Support and engage in office-wide initiatives and priorities, including development and implementation of LCI's Racial Equity Action Plan. Independently produce meeting materials and pre-meeting briefings; participate in a variety of grant administration development meetings; provide critical contributions and written meeting summaries; research, compile and summarize information for document composition, staff reports, and/or presentations. Participate in staff meetings, attend training, provide work status reports, handle special projects, and serve on inter-agency working groups. Maintain close relationship with LCI Admin team to ensure timely implementation of LCI policies and requirements. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
