POSITION SUMMARY
The Grants Director is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of JACF's grant funding strategy, including grant research, proposal development, reporting, compliance, and stewardship. This role serves as the organization's primary grants expert and contributes directly to revenue growth and organizational sustainability through successful grant acquisition and management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage a comprehensive grants portfolio and supports organization revenue goals and strategic priorities.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
  • Write and submit grant proposals, applications, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage grants through the full lifecycle, including prospecting, stewardship, reporting, and renewal.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to develop project plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee grant compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and manage the organization's grants calendar.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for grant-related communications.
  • Monitor grant performance and funding outcomes.
  • Create and manage grant budgets in partnership with the finance team.
  • Maintain accurate donor and grant records within the CRM and project management software.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications on impact stories and recognition opportunities.
  • Represent JACF professionally with funders and community stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems (e.g., Blackbaud).
  • Knowledge of the Central Florida philanthropic landscape is a strong asset.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful grant writing, grants management, fundraising, or related nonprofit experience.
  • Proven success in securing grant funding.
  • Experience managing grant reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, grant tracking and prospecting platforms, and project management software.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check.
JOB LEVEL ALIGNMENT
This role is aligned with a P3 - Director level position with the following characteristics:
    Years of Experience:
    4-6 years of experience, with a deep understanding of the discipline and the organization's objectives.
      Skills and Expertise:
      Senior professional level with the ability to manage complex projects. Possesses both in-depth conceptual knowledge and practical experience in applying those concepts to solve problems.
        Autonomy:
        Operates with significant independence, managing large projects with minimal guidance. Provides strategic recommendations based on expertise.
          Decision-Making:
          Makes decisions related to grant strategy and funder stewardship.
            Organizational Impact:
            Directly influences organizational revenue growth and sustainability.
            JOB LEVEL COMPENSATION
              Salary Range:
              $55,000 - $80,000 annually
              • The starting salary for this role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, including education, relevant experience, and alignment with the position's requirements.
              • Please note that initial offers typically fall within the lower to mid-range and not at the top of the scale. The posted salary range reflects compensation for candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for this role.
              • Salary increases are reviewed annually and may be considered based on individual performance, merit, and organizational budget capacity.
