The Treasurer is responsible for the financial management and oversight of all funds associated with the Area 31 Career Center and the district. This position works in partnership with the administration to ensure accurate accounting, compliance with state and federal regulations, and timely financial reporting to support district operations.Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain accounting records for all district, grant, and class funds Oversee billing, accounts receivable, and collection of tuition, student fees, and program-related revenues Prepare, process, and reconcile bank deposits and financial transactions Organize, review, and process purchase requests and issue purchase orders in accordance with district policies Process invoices, claim forms, and credit card transactions Generate and distribute monthly financial reports to administrators Assist administrators with annual budget development and ongoing budget monitoring, including adjustments based on enrollment/count day data Compile and prepare year-end financial reports in compliance with Indiana State Board of Accounts requirements Implement, monitor, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard district assets Maintain inventory records for equipment and assets, including items purchased with grant funds, ensuring compliance with inventory requirements Assist with internal and external financial audits, including the preparation of required documentation Perform other duties as assignedFederal & Grant Management Responsibilities:
Manage financial aspects of federal and state grants, including tracking expenditures and ensuring the allowability of costs Ensure full compliance with grant requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) Complete and submit the required monthly federal grant reporting in a timely and accurate manner Process and track grant budget amendments and modifications Collaborate with program administrators to align spending with approved grant budgets Maintain accurate documentation to support grant expenditures, audits, and monitoring reviewsQualifications:
Prior experience in school finance, governmental accounting, or nonprofit accounting preferred Experience with Microsoft Office and financial/accounting software required Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities Knowledge of Indiana State Board of Accounts regulations preferred Position may be filled at any time.Position Type:
