Job Summary:
In collaboration with Community LINC leadership (including the Board), staff and key volunteers, the Assistant Director of Development is responsible for the creation, communication, and implementation of the fundraising and development efforts to achieve annual and long-term fundraising goals. This includes ensuring the successful planning and coordination of all fundraising programs, events, and activities for the organization, including the annual RENT party each year. The Assistant Director of Development maintains corporate, foundation, government, and individual donor relations, and plays a key role in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors for major and annual gifts. In addition, s/he is accountable for grant writing and stewardship while overseeing event planning, membership, and individual giving. This highly visible position also develops and executes strategies to build and grow Community Linc's partnerships and reputation in our community and ensure long-term financial stability for the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organization and implement an integrated approach to development with a focus on bringing new financial resources to the organization, including identifying target markets, cultivation, and solicitation strategies Identify and apply for grant funding from government, corporate, and foundation sources on a timely basis to meet short-and long-term financial goals Manage and oversee the execution of all annual, sponsorship, donor, capital, and endowment fundraising programs with assistance as needed from key board members and staff Recommend fundraising policies and procedures to the CEO and Board Prepare and manage annual giving and contribute reports along with short- and long-term goals In collaboration with the Development staff, Marketing, and others, develop and implement strategies designed to engage existing and potential corporate partners that support direct solicitation through, for example, proposals, grant writing, personal solicitation, direct mail, and special events • In collaboration with the Development staff and Marketing, develop and implement an ongoing communication program to engage existing donors, which recognizes past and current commitments and fosters support for future efforts • Maintain relationships with development professionals and other key contacts in the community by keeping the donor database up to date with contact information and giving data. Reporting Provide operational accountability to funders as required through reporting requirements, annual reports, and other mechanisms to ensure compliance Manage gift-tracking, timely acknowledgements, and regular reporting on the use and impact of funds raised Further team and staff professional growth through professional development opportunities Leadership and Collaboration Collaborate with leadership to improve financial systems and operational efficiencies. Provide guidance on accounting policies and best practices. Participate in special projects and strategic financial initiatives. Maintain a positive and solution focused attitude.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. Experience 5 or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience. Experience securing major gifts of $5,000 or more from individual donors, corporations, or foundations. Experience supervising staff, volunteers, interns, or fundraising committees. Familiarity with grant research, proposal development, and grant compliance reporting. Experience working closely with executive leadership, boards of directors, and development committees. Knowledge of donor stewardship best practices and moves management strategies. Experience using donor management software such as Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, or similar CRM platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
