Job Description

The Department of Title III is accepting applications for the Assistant Director position. The Assistant Director provides leadership, technical assistance and administrative support for the Title III Grant Administration and Evaluation office. This unit provides administrative oversight for three Title III (HBCU, FUTURE, and HBGI) federally-funded Grants. This position will ensure compliance with federal regulations, enhance program effectiveness, and support initiatives designed to improve student services and outcomes, academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability. Responsibilities include performing such duties as collecting, organizing, and analyzing information for proposal development, budgets, reports (typing, writing, and editing, etc.), and handling day-to-day functions of the Title III office. Provide technical support to the Title III Director. Assist with the preparation of internal and external evaluations, financial status, and performance reports. Serve as point of contact to Activity Directors and office staff to ensure activities are properly executed according to regulations and project plans to accomplish program objectives. Assist with coordination, collection and analysis of documentation of Title III activities for the purpose of reporting. Assist with the planning, organizing and coordination of program events, workshops, and special projects. Assist with monthly review of activity expenditures. Monitor budget transactions to ensure that they are allowable and allocable cost. Understand Title III Program and United States Department of Education policies and terms/conditions of each grant to ensure compliance. Review policies and procedures for updates and recommend revisions as needed. Assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications and required reports to the United States Department of Education. Attend training sessions, conferences and workshops to stay abreast of regulations, policies and professional development. Handle routine office matters. Performs other Duties as assigned. Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing federal grants in higher education, preferably Title III programs. Strong understanding of HBCU, HBGI, and FUTURE grant requirements and federal regulations. Demonstrated experience in budget management, program evaluation, and compliance reporting. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Skills Strong organizational skills, communication and writing skills. Analytical and data-driven decision-making Grant writing and reporting expertise. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Experience managing multiple projects with specified goals and timelines. Ability to collect, organize and analyze data. Ability to understand, design, and communicate policy. Cooperative, supportive, and approachable attitude. Ability to work well in a team setting.
