Job Description

Job Posting Information The City of Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to provide part-time support to the Planning & Construction Division in the preparation and administration of grants. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful park, trail, and conservation initiatives while working with a collaborative and mission-driven team. The grants assistant position will play a key role in securing funding for capital improvement projects intended to advance Department initiatives and priority projects. Responsibilities may vary and are generally envisioned to include the following: Assist in the preparation and assembly of Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant application materials. Outdoor Recreation Legacy Program (ORLP) LWCF State Formula Program LWCF Other (e.g., Nebraska Environmental Trust, Recreational Trails Program) Assist with public engagement coordination to support and strengthen grant applications. Assist in the preparation of grant reporting including preparation of project narratives and financial summaries. Enter grant application and reporting materials into required forms/format and into online application portals when applicable.
Qualifications:
Experience in project coordination, planning, parks and recreation, public administration, or a related field. Strong organizational and communication skills. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with colleagues/project partners. Familiarity with grant processes and municipal operations is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Work schedule is flexible and may vary depending on project activities/deadlines.
Compensation:
The starting salary will be $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Temporary, on call, and seasonal positions with the City are not eligible for benefits.
