Job Type:
PartTime USNH Employees should within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Serve as Principal Investigator for the grant during the short-term appointment period. PIs are responsible for financial oversight of the project and compliance with relevant university policies and sponsor terms and conditions. Duties/Responsibilities Provide PI oversight for the grant during the appointment period. Monitor subrecipients and contractors to ensure project activities are completed in accordance with grant requirements. Review and verify contractor/subrecipient invoices for accuracy, allowability, and alignment with completed deliverables. Confirm that project deliverables and required activities have been completed. Review grant expenditures to ensure they are appropriate, allowable, and properly allocated to the award. Verify any required effort reporting or project-related documentation. Coordinate with Carsey administrative staff, Sponsored Programs, and project partners as needed to support grant closeout activities. Respond to questions related to project activities, deliverables, invoices, or expenses during the appointment period. Ensure remaining project activities are completed in compliance with sponsor and university requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Doctorate degree in public policy, community development finance, impact finance, economics, planning, or a closely related field. Significant experience providing leadership or oversight for externally funded research, policy, or community development finance projects. Experience serving in a Principal Investigator, project director, senior advisor, or similar project oversight role. Experience with sponsored project administration, grant compliance, sponsor requirements, project deliverables, and closeout activities. Experience reviewing project activities, deliverables, expenditures, invoices, and supporting documentation. Experience coordinating with internal administrative, finance, and sponsored programs staff, as well as external project partners, contractors, and/or subrecipients.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of externally funded project oversight and grant compliance requirements. Strong knowledge of impact finance, community development finance, public policy, or related policy areas. Ability to monitor subrecipients, contractors, and project partners to ensure work is completed in accordance with grant requirements. Ability to review invoices for accuracy, allowability, and alignment with completed deliverables. Ability to review and verify project expenditures, effort reporting, and supporting documentation. Ability to support final reporting, compliance, and grant closeout requirements. Ability to coordinate effectively with faculty, staff, sponsored programs, finance staff, external partners, and funders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond to questions related to project status, deliverables, expenses, and closeout requirements. Ability to work independently and complete required project oversight within a short-term appointment period.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than 40 years of professional experience in impact finance, community development finance, public policy, applied research, or related fields. Prior experience serving as Principal Investigator or senior project lead on externally funded grants or contracts. Prior experience working with universities, sponsored programs offices, funders, contractors, and subrecipients. Direct experience with grant-funded research, policy development, and community development finance initiatives.
