The incumbent must understand the Federal compliance regulations for
MSBS Funding Sources:
Direct Services Billing, Administrative Claims, and Cost Settlement Reporting. The incumbent will Supervise, lead, direct, evaluate and support the work of the Medicaid School Based Services (MSBS) Staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises, leads, directs, evaluates and supports the work of the Medicaid School Based Services (MSBS) Staff. Provides assistance to each Medicaid Specialist, Technician and Admin Assistant on best practices that promote increased Medicaid funding. Consults, assists, and trains related service providers on MSBS program requirements including maintaining necessary records for audit purposes. Consults with Director and other leaders to effectively implement and improve MSBS funding and inform leadership of the new Federal requirements. Consults with Director to create best practices to become more efficient with our MSBS Program funding strategies. Communicates with the New Mexico Human Services Department, New Mexico Medical Assistance Division, and New Mexico Public Education Department. Understand the Federal compliance regulations for
MSBS Funding Sources:
Direct Services Billing, Administrative Claims, and Cost Settlement Reporting. Conducts professional development with all Specialists and other Medicaid Billing Staff. Assists in mentoring all MSBS Staff. Identifies, develops and disseminates resources that enhance MSBS funding. Identifies and tracks bi-weekly billing deposits. In conjunction with the Director of Accountability & Operations and Manager of Data Systems, develops and maintains action plans to improve the billing process. Assists with the development and oversight of data collection and evaluation. Researches effective strategies for improving processes and meeting timelines required by Federal and State entities. Monitors compliance with Federal, State, and Program rules and regulations to ensure preservation of grant funding. Collaborates effectively with multiple individuals and agencies to support the MSBS Program Consults and networks with other school districts in New Mexico. Participates in State and local Medicaid committees. Participates in department, division and district level committees as requested.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Experience supervising staff Experience providing individual and/or team technical and project management assistance Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects. Computer, business English and basic mathematics skills (including budget management). Proficient with training, word processing, database and spreadsheet software. Ability to apply a strategic planning process for multiple and complex tasks. Ability to work with diverse populations and communities. Medicaid billing knowledge
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Medicaid funding, business or related field, OR Associates Degree and 10 years of experience in Medicaid funding, business or related field; OR High School Diploma and 14 years of experience in Medicaid funding, business or related field Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills Computer, business English, bookkeeping and basic mathematics skills Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person, through email and on the telephone Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects Knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software Knowledge of Federal Compliance and grant management Five years of grant funding and project management skills
