Working closely with the Founder/CEO as a trusted partner, you'll manage a team of three contract grant writers, keep every deadline and deliverable on track, and drive the growth of the practice through business development. This is a part-time role as of now. Because business development is central to the position, your hours and scope can grow with the capacity you help build. We're looking for someone who wants to build something with us, not just pass through. What You'll Own 1. Client Partnerships You're the face of SNC to our clients. You lead intake and onboarding, serve as the primary contact throughout each engagement, check in proactively, and flag issues early. When challenges arise, you address them with honesty and solution-focused energy. You build partnerships where clients trust you to show up for them. 2. Team, Projects, and Deadlines You track every deadline and deliverable across the practice using Google Sheets, Google Docs, and newer AI tools. You assign work to the team based on expertise and capacity, review proposals for client voice, funder requirements, and detail, and flag bottlenecks before they affect timelines. You keep shared systems organized so nothing lives only in someone's head. 3. Business Development You identify and pursue new client opportunities through networking and outreach, manage the pipeline from first inquiry through signed contract, and collaborate with the Founder/CEO on positioning and growth strategy. This is the part of the role that most directly expands your hours. Throughout, you'll partner directly with the Founder/CEO on vision and strategy. You're not just executing a vision; you're helping build it. What You'll Bring 5+ years of grant writing and/or nonprofit fundraising experience 2+ years managing people, projects, or teams A track record of building client relationships with nonprofits and delivering on deadlines Deep familiarity with the Texas nonprofit sector and funder landscape Strong attention to detail, with solid proofreading and editing skills Proficiency in Google Docs and Google Sheets, and the ability to adapt to evolving AI tools Excellent written and verbal communication; you share updates proactively rather than waiting to be asked
Bonus:
nonprofit program or development roles, grant database or fundraising software experience, or a degree in nonprofit management, social sciences, or a related field Even if you don't meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. The Kind of Person We're Looking For Humble, kind, and committed. You lead with genuine kindness and confidence, not arrogance. You assume good intent, hold high expectations for quality and mutual accountability, and take accountability when mistakes happen. Comfortable in the gray. Not everything in a growing business is black and white. You make good decisions without perfect information. Relationship-focused. You understand that nonprofit leaders work under real pressure, and that insight makes you a stronger partner in crafting compelling grant stories. Proactive and detail-oriented. You anticipate problems, surface issues early, and bring solutions with you. Deadlines are non-negotiable in grant writing, and grammar, formatting, and consistency matter to you. Values-aligned and growth-oriented. You believe in nonprofit mission and impact, model healthy work-life integration, and want to grow as a leader. Compensation and Structure This is a part-time contract role at a flat rate of $3,000 to $3,500 per month, depending on experience, for approximately 12 to 15 hours per week. We'll review scope and rate together annually; as the practice grows, this role grows with it. We offer professional development support and remote, flexible work arrangements.
Pay:
$3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
