Native American Lifelines Inc. (NAL) is a small nonprofit community-based agency in Baltimore, MD, with an additional service location in Boston, MA. NAL serves American Indians/Alaskan Natives, primarily providing health education, health promotion, case management, substance abuse counseling, dental services, transportation, and support groups. Our program is part of a network of 42 Urban Indian Health Organizations nationally and a member of the National Council of Urban Indian Health. NAL's substance use & mental health outpatient treatment program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).POSITION SUMMARY
Native American LifeLines is seeking a dedicated Grants Manager to oversee all aspects of grant function, from identifying funding opportunities to ensuring proper grant compliance, data management, and evaluation. The role requires a detail-oriented individual to prepare and submit grant proposals, manage grant reporting and ensure compliance with all grantor guidelines. The ideal candidate has a firm understanding of non-profit fundraising strategies, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and has a proven track record of successful grant management. Additionally, an ability to develop, manage, and maintain positive relationships with funders will be vital to this role.ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Competencies Thorough understanding of Federal, state, and local funding sources and the ability to local potential sources of funding. Thorough understanding of grant funding best practices and applicable local, state, and Federal regulations. Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources. Proven experience in developing grant lifecycle management tools. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. A thorough understanding of effective grant writing techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Extremely organized and meticulous with details. Exceptional time and priority management skills. Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports. Demonstrates discretion in handling sensitive information, including employee salaries and confidential project details, essential for grant applications. Duties/Responsibilities Post-award duties include monthly budget and expenditure reconciliation, financial projections, interpreting financial policies and applying best practices in order to effectively communicate financial reporting. Serves as liaison with internal departments. Write and edit winning proposals and reports for foundation, corporate, and individual donors. Collaborate cross-departments to collect content and craft proposals by deadline. Work with staff and finance department to draft project budgets for grant proposals. Collaborate with Finance Director and Deputy Director to oversee grants calendar and processing. Ensures effective communication of grant payments and restrictions. Develop complex budgets and other administrative sections of grant and contract proposals. Understands and executes the various stages of the grant lifecycle including pre-award review, grant progress monitoring, and award closure. Supports staff in producing grant reports, including coordination of programmatic narratives. Help assess the effectiveness of funded projects and gather data for evaluation. Contribute to the organization's strategic planning regarding funding and resource allocation. Assist with providing guidance and training to staff on grant management processes and best practices. Informs leadership about trends in grant funding, including shifts in priorities among major funders and emerging funding sources. Serves as the internal reviewer for all dental and non-purchase of care requests for Baltimore and Boston.TELEWORK/REMOTE WORK
This position is eligible for limited telework after 90 days, or situationally as determined by leadership. Some travel between NAL service locations in Baltimore and Boston is required. All work-related travel will be paid for byNAL. HOURS
: Business hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Exempt professionals should expect to work between 40-45 hours weekly. Some evenings and weekends are required for community and outreach events.BENEFITS

Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of experience in grant writing, development, or fundraising in a non-profit or academic setting. Preferred Qualifications A Bachelor's degree Finance, Accounting, Business/Non-Profit Management, or a related field. 3 or more years of experience in grant writing, development or fundraising in a non-profit setting.
