PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and oversight for programmatic staff, managing daily operations of programs in the Racine and Kenosha service areas. Ensure program effectiveness, integrity, and alignment with organizational goals. Develop, cultivate, and maintain strategic partnerships to identify funding opportunities and collaborative initiatives. Oversee homebuyer & homeowner education and training programs; evaluate effectiveness, implement improvements, and ensure high-quality service delivery. Ensure adequate staffing coverage for client appointments, counseling sessions, and educational workshops. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that motivates staff to achieve performance benchmarks and long-term objectives. Encourage staff engagement by promoting participation in decision-making and goal setting. Identify professional development and training needs for team members. Conduct timely performance evaluations; establish clear performance standards and support staff in goal setting and action planning. Ensure adherence to program protocols, policies, and organizational procedures. Perform regular audits of client management systems and paper files to ensure compliance. Stay informed on housing and homeownership trends; advise the Executive Director on emerging needs, opportunities, and best practices. Ensure compliance with HUD guidelines across all programs, services, and organizational procedures. Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly program and grant reports. Assist in program budgeting and grant writing to support funding needs. Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff in collaboration with the Executive Director. Contribute to compensation reviews, performance management, and coaching for staff development. Research, design, and implement new programs to address evolving community needs. Assist in identifying and pursuing new funding sources, including grants and contracts. Support the planning and facilitation of regular staff meetings to communicate updates, changes, and organizational priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar program preferred, with a minimum of 3-5 years of management or leadership experience, ideally in housing programs, banking, or lending.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate teams to meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a people-centered approach and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, grant writing, and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with community partners, including prospective homeowners, realtors, bankers, and lenders.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including clients, partners, and staff.
  • Demonstrated management experience, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
Travel between offices; Must have valid driver's license City of Racine residency preferred Successfully pass the HUD exam withing 6 months of employment This position will be expected to work a minimum of 40-45 hours per week Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support programming activities, meetings, and community events.
