Midpoint:
$26.42 hourly Grant PUD posts the full salary range for each position. The midpoint is provided as a reference point and is not a guaranteed starting pay. Starting pay is based on job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, internal alignment, and organizational needs. Most new hires are typically placed between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Position Summary This Student Helper position is intended to provide safe, supervised student work and learning experience in Grant PUD's Power Production Cultural Resources area. The position supports Wanapum cultural-resource stewardship, traditional-resource activities, records, events, educational materials, and administrative needs under close supervision. The role is designed for students who are developing workplace skills and who have an interest in supporting the respectful protection, preservation, and perpetuation of Wanapum culture, history, traditions, and cultural resources. Essential Function Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Supports Power Production Cultural Resources / Traditional Resources staff with administrative, records, research, event, educational, and community-support tasks under close supervision. Assists with activities related to Wanapum cultural-resource stewardship, traditional-resource programs, cultural preservation, educational materials, and departmental support. Helps prepare, organize, scan, file, label, inventory, or distribute documents, photos, meeting materials, supplies, and records as assigned. Assists with meetings, gatherings, trainings, tours, presentations, and events, including setup, cleanup, sign-in materials, note-taking, supply organization, and follow-up tasks. Uses or learns to use Microsoft Office, email, calendars, Teams, shared drives, scanners, printers, and other District systems to complete assigned work. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive cultural-resource, traditional-resource, archaeological, family, community, and District information. Demonstrates respect for Wanapum elders, community members, cultural protocols, traditional knowledge, coworkers, visitors, and partner organizations. May participate in supervised field, facility, or event-support activities when age-appropriate, properly trained, and approved by the supervisor. Does not independently conduct archaeological work, cultural-resource compliance work, Tribal consultation, excavation, monitoring, artifact collection, or handling of culturally sensitive materials. Required Qualifications (Education and Experience, License, and/or Certification): Must be enrolled in an accredited high school, GED program, college, or university. Must maintain full-time student status throughout employment and provide verification upon request Must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and provide verification upon request Preferred Qualifications (Education and Experience, License, and/or Certification): Experience participating in Wanapum community, family, cultural, educational, youth, volunteer, or school activities. Familiarity with or willingness to learn Wanapum cultural protocols, community expectations, and the importance of protecting culturally sensitive information. Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic respectful workplace behavior. Knowledge of the importance of confidentiality when working with cultural, traditional, family, community, archaeological, and District information. Basic office practices such as filing, scanning, organizing records, preparing materials, and using email or calendars. Knowledge of the importance of safety, asking questions, and following supervisor direction. Must be able to communicate respectfully with supervisors, coworkers, Wanapum community members, elders, families, visitors, and partner organizations. Using or learning Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, shared drives, scanners, printers, and other basic office tools. Must be able to follow directions and work safely under close supervision.
