Job Description

The IGNITE Federal Grant Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for IGNITE at
Midlands Technical College:
Igniting Growth in Novel Innovations Through Education, a $8 million federally funded workforce development initiative focused on advancing the Midlands region's manufacturing sector. The grant enters its second year of implementation, on July 1, 2026, with approximately two years of funding remaining. This position oversees the comprehensive planning, execution, evaluation, and sustainability of all grant activities to ensure alignment with federal regulations, institutional priorities, and regional workforce needs. The Director will oversee grant staffing, budget management, training implementation, performance monitoring, partner coordination, and regulatory compliance. Serving as the primary liaison between Midlands Technical College, federal agencies, workforce system partners, and key community stakeholders, the Grant Director will ensure the program expands access to high-quality education and employment services, prepares individuals for in-demand jobs in advanced manufacturing and related fields, and supports long-term regional economic development. This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus. Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Strong leadership, project management, and personnel management and supervision skills. Ability to analyze data, assess program effectiveness, and implement improvements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Master's degree in a relevant field. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing federal or state grant programs, including budget oversight, reporting, and compliance. Experience in higher education, workforce development, or community engagement. Knowledge of federal grant financial management policies and procedures. Knowledge of manufacturing and technical trades, postsecondary education systems, and apprenticeship programs.
