South Carolina Retirement Yes State Insurance Programs Yes Annual Leave Yes Sick Leave Yes Position Description Advertised Job Summary The position will work as the STEM program and grant Manager, performing outreach to K-12 schools in the region, offering STEMcation programs in efforts to develop a workforce pipeline. This position will also connect current and prospective USC Salkehatchie students with STEM scholarships, internships andor research programs as well as assist with developing and implementing strategies related to marketing and recruitment for Salkehatchie's STEM degree opportunities. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalentbination of job related certification, training,cation, andor experience. Required Certification, LicensureOther Credentials NA Preferred Qualifications Grant Management and Successful Grant Writing experience preferred Management experience Mechanically inclined, understand clean energy, robotics, electricity. KnowledgeSkillsAbilities Effective oral and writtenmunication skills are essential. Working knowledge of budgets and budgeting practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft application software (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point). Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with USC personnel andmunity agencies. Ability toprehend and properly government and USC policies, prores and regulations. Job Duties Job Duty Work with schools in the University's service area at the K-12 level to provide opportunities for students to engage in STEM activities with the purpose of introducing them to STEM fields and careers, particularly at the SRS and with focus on clean energy. Some of these activities will include Nuclear Science Week, Aviation Camp, and University of Possibilities events. Engage in collaboration with area schools and otheranizations, i.e. DIG (Dreams, Imagination & Gift) to plan targeted events. Develop and implement new programs and opportunities for middle school and high school students such as STEM summer camp, roboticspetitions, etc. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 50 Job Duty Will work to develop an internship program that identifies opportunities for university students to gain experience in businesses and industries in the service area, including SRS. Will assist students in learning about and ing for other scholarships and or research programs as well as developing and implementing strategies regarding marketing and recruiting for Salkehatchie's STEM degrees and partnerships with industry in the service area, including SRS Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty Oversee all aspects of STEM-related grants, including application, reporting, assessment and budgeting; in addition to grant writing for program sustainability.
