Job Description

The Assistant Community Programs and Resource Development Supervisor will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Juvenile Services department including identifying, researching, developing, managing. and evaluating community programs and resources necessary to carry out the orders of the court for youth offenders and to support the work of probation units. This position has lead responsibility for coordinating referrals to community providers, monitoring progress of clients referred and reviewing documentation for compliance with provider performance standards and billing. This position will work closely with the agency Research Coordinator to develop a methodology for assessing how well contract providers are maintaining program fidelity and the impact of the services upon juveniles who are referred for services. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Processes referrals to existing contracts and for new resources as they are developed. Monitors expenses and service provision data in existing contracts to ensure timely delivery of services and compliance with budget requirements. Monitors existing contracts for compliance with target services and outcomes. Coordinates referrals for substance abuse services and community-based detention services. Researches, prepares and maintains ongoing information system and resource directory of community resources. Facilitates "Ground Zero" substance abuse community meetings. Assists unit supervisor with setting up contract referral and maintenance processes for new resources. Assists departmental Research Coordinator with studies on existing programs. Participates in advising appropriate staff on potential grant resources. May conduct research on pertinent resource issues. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, effectively assess needs, and develop and evaluate programs. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stay organized and know how to prioritize the workload. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite. Advanced analytical skills. Ability to attain certification by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department as a juvenile probation officer. Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years experience in probation, corrections or social services. Valid TX Driver's License required.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with program development, contract monitoring, and evaluation techniques, as well as utilization of computers in order to perform reporting, research, and evaluation functions. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be required to bend, hear, keyboard, sit, stand, talk, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
