Job Description
Overview The Shelfer is responsible for receiving, organizing, stocking, and maintaining food, beverage, and supply inventory throughout the restaurant. This position ensures all products are properly stored, rotated, and available to support daily restaurant operations while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and company standards. Responsibilities Receive and verify incoming deliveries against invoices and purchase orders. Unload, inspect, and properly store food, beverage, and restaurant supplies. Stock shelves, storage areas, walk-in coolers, and freezers according to company procedures. Rotate inventory using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure freshness and minimize waste. Maintain organized storage rooms, coolers, and freezer areas. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to management. Assist with inventory counts and stock audits. Ensure all products are labeled, dated, and stored according to health and safety guidelines. Safely operate carts, dollies, and other equipment used for moving inventory. Remove and dispose of cardboard, packaging, and waste materials. Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment. Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and health department regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous stockroom, warehouse, restaurant, or inventory experience preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic math and inventory-counting skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including walk-in coolers and freezers. Work Environment Fast-paced restaurant environment. Exposure to kitchen operations, cleaning chemicals, and refrigerated areas. Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Posted Salary Range USD $17.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr. Tipped Position This position does not earn tips
