Job Description

Part-Time Inventory Auditor
  • Central and Northern Colorado/Denver Metro Rocky Mountain Inventory Rocky Mountain Inventory is a professional inventory service specializing in physical inventory counts for convenience stores, liquor stores, small grocers, and other retail operations.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Inventory Auditor in the Central and Northern Colorado/Denver Metro area to support inventory work at a variety of retail store locations. Job Duties Include (but are not limited to): Performing accurate physical inventory counts using handheld devices and/or 10-Key Working in a variety of retail environments Using step stools and occasionally 6-foot ladders Stooping, bending, kneeling, and crawling as needed to count low or hard-to-reach stock Maintaining professionalism and accuracy on every job Providing courteous service to store staff and managers
Work Environment & Teamwork:
Many retail locations require counting inventory in back cooler or freezer areas, which can be cold and physically demanding. It is our practice to support one another , sharing tasks or trading off to ensure the work is done efficiently and comfortably as a team.
Schedule & Work Expectations:
Daytime hours only — this position is not suitable for those seeking evening or weekend-only work Typical schedule: 3-4 days per week , with occasional weeks up to 5 days Start times are usually 6:00-7:00 AM (can be earlier); most shifts end around midday , though longer days may occur Occasional weekend work may be needed (filled by volunteers when possible) We do our best to schedule you close to home , but travel within and beyond your region may be required: Colorado Springs-based employees may work in Monument, Fountain, Pueblo, and nearby areas Denver-based employees may cover the full metro area and beyond Teams may be asked to help other regions when short-staffed
Travel & Mileage Compensation:
Mileage and travel pay are provided after a set daily minimum is met , accounting for normal commute time A company vehicle may be available for longer-distance assignments High Standards for
Reliability & Punctuality:
Punctuality and reliability are critical requirements for this role. We understand that occasional illness or emergencies happen — that's part of life. But no-shows and last-minute cancellations without communication have a direct impact on our ability to meet customer commitments, and we have a very low tolerance for this behavior. Inventory work is time-sensitive and team-based. When someone doesn't show up, it can lead to delays, increased workload for others, and even canceled jobs with our customers . That affects our team and our reputation. If you're dependable, communicate responsibly, and take your commitments seriously, you'll be a strong asset to the team.
Drug & Alcohol Policy:
Coming to work under the influence of any non-prescribed drugs, alcohol, or marijuana — or exhibiting the smell of these substances — is strictly prohibited and is cause for immediate termination . We maintain a drug-free workplace to ensure safety, accuracy, and professionalism for all employees and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 10-Key by touch or prior inventory work (preferred but not required — we will train the right person) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work efficiently in changing environments Excellent customer service and communication skills
Requirements:
Personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance Willingness to travel locally and occasionally regionally Physically able to perform job duties (standing, bending, crawling, etc.) Clean criminal history (background checks may be conducted) Drug-free (we are a drug-free employer) We offer competitive pay and may consider a higher starting rate for applicants with proven inventory experience.
