Job Description

Shipping / Receiving & Vendor Relations Associate Position Summary The Appliance Receiving & Inventory Management Associate is responsible for the accurate receiving, inspection, organization, and tracking of appliances and related products. This role ensures inventory accuracy, prevents damage and loss, and supports timely deliveries and showroom replenishment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with appliance manufacturers, distributors, and service providers, as well as providing effective issue resolution, and smooth coordination between vendors and internal teams. The position plays a critical role in protecting company assets and delivering a great customer experience. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inspection Receive inbound appliance shipments from vendors and transfers from other locations Verify quantities, models, serial numbers, and condition against purchase orders and bills of lading Inspect all products for damage upon arrival and document issues immediately Properly tag, label, and record inventory upon receipt Inventory Control
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's inventory system Perform routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories Identify discrepancies and report shortages, overages, or errors promptly.
  • Track aged inventory and assist management with inventory organization and movement.
  • Keep the receiving and warehouse areas clean, safe, and orderly Coordination & Communication Communicate receiving issues, damages, or shortages to management and purchasing teams Work closely with purchasing and management teams to ensure efficient product flow Assist with transfers, RTVs (return to vendor), and damaged merchandise processing Vendor Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for appliance manufacturers and distributors in regards to damages, returns, and credits Build and maintain positive, professional vendor relationships Communicate company expectations, standards, and operational needs clearly RTV, Claims & Issue Resolution Manage RTV processes including defective, damaged, and non-conforming products Submit and track warranty claims, freight claims, and vendor credits Resolve all shipping / receiving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Work closely with warehouse, delivery, and service teams to minimize disruption Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures when handling, moving, or storing appliances Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment safely (certification as required) Report safety hazards or damaged equipment immediately Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous warehouse, receiving, or inventory experience preferred (appliance or big-ticket retail a plus) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift and move large appliances with assistance and equipment Strong computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and scanning equipment Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Physical Requirements Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of appliances (with equipment and team assistance) Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday Ability to work in a warehouse environment Performance Expectations Accurate and timely receiving of all inbound products Minimal inventory discrepancies Clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Prompt reporting and documentation of damage or inventory issues Consistent adherence to company safety and operational standards
