Barker Boatworks is a manufacturer of high-performance, custom-built center console boats. We are committed to exceptional quality and craftsmanship. We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to keep material flowing accurately and on time to our production floor.

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on warehouse and stockroom role in a boat manufacturing shop. You will pull material against BOM pick lists and stage complete, verified kits for each hull and build stage, while keeping receiving, put-away, and inventory counts accurate. When the floor opens a kit, every part is there, correct, and accounted for. Accuracy in this role prevents delays across lamination, assembly, and rigging.

Responsibilities:

Kitting and Staging:

Pull material against BOM pick lists by hull number and build stage. Verify part numbers, quantities, and revisions against the pick list before a kit is released — no substitutions without approval. Stage kits on carts or in bins, labeled by hull and stage, and release them to the floor per the production schedule. Track and document partial kits and open shortages so the floor knows what is missing before work starts. Process returns of unused material back to stock with proper transactions.

Inventory Control:

Receive incoming shipments, verify against packing slips and POs, and report damage or discrepancies immediately. Put away received material to correct locations and maintain accurate bin and location data. Perform cycle counts on a defined schedule and research variances. Record all issues, receipts, and adjustments in Tangle so on-hand quantities stay accurate. Escalate BOM errors, wrong part numbers, and repeat shortages to purchasing and production control.

Warehouse Operations:

Keep the stockroom clean, organized, labeled, and secure. Maintain FIFO on shelf-life-limited materials, including resins, gelcoats, adhesives, and sealants. Store chemicals and hazardous materials per SDS requirements and shop safety protocols. Operate forklift, pallet jack, and material handling equipment safely. Support monthly and annual physical inventory counts.

Qualifications:

Experience in a warehouse, stockroom, parts, or inventory role in a manufacturing environment. Marine or boatbuilding experience is a plus. Ability to read and work from BOMs, pick lists, and part numbers with accuracy and consistency. Comfortable working in an ERP or inventory system, or willingness to be trained on it, is required. Basic computer skills, including data entry, and comfort with a barcode scanner or tablet. Organized, methodical, and disciplined about counting and recording — this job rewards people who slow down enough to be right. Forklift certification is a plus; we will certify the right candidate. Able to lift 50 lbs, stand and walk for a full shift, and climb ladders or use lift equipment to access upper storage. Reliable attendance and clear communication with production leads, purchasing, and the floor. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Able to drive a trailer is a plus for pickups around town
