An Inventory Associate monitors warehouse inventory and places orders with vendors for supplies. Conducts regular or occasional audits of inventory or sections of a warehouse.
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary. Essential Functions An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Maintains quality and accuracy of inventory by tracking and identifying freight manually or with computer software; conducting audits on shipments and warehouse cycle schedules; inspecting freight and products for correct quantities and conditions; researching discrepancies; preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reports; and moving freight manually and with powered equipment. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Provide basic maintenance to equipment (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing labels and ribbons). Prepares, reviews, and analyzes reports by entering data (e.g. inventory adjustments, recall, vendor, profile, cycle test, item details, audits) and accuracy information to appropriate file/report or systems; tracking inventory numbers and providing reports to leaders, managers, vendors, and/or home office. Maintains and documents inventory of salvaged, donated, and less than case freight by tracking and collecting damage adjustments; processing damaged items; separating and storing damaged freight according to food safety audit guidelines. Processes and submits paperwork, creates and maintains organized files, and identifies and resolves discrepancies in records or files. Physical Activities The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position. Enters and locates information on computer. Moves up and down stairs. Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand for extended periods of time. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, which could include, but not be limited to fall protection, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, chemical protection and electrical protection such as protective footwear. Operate motor vehicle or other large power equipment. Walk within work area for extended periods of time. Enter and locate information on a computer or system communication device. Use crossovers to access opposite sides of conveyors. Differentiate sounds in order to inspect and maintain equipment, identify potential hazards, or recognize safety alarms. Lift, push, pull, and carry tools, objects or equipment above shoulder level without assistance. Write documents, reports, etc. using a writing instrument (e.g., pencil, pen) or computer. Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance. Work Environment Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position. Moves over slippery surfaces in the work area as well as other areas that may become slippery during inclement weather. May work with substances that require special handling Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Works at heights, including on roofs, on scaffolding, or in ceiling spaces. Moves over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Works at heights. Work indoors for extended periods of time. Move through narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces. Entry Requirements Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience in Walmart Supply Chain clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) using computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheet, word processing) OR 1 year's experience in clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) using computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheet, word processing).
