The Shipping & Receiving Worker processes orders and ships products to customers; unloads all materials and places such in the building.. All training will be provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Checks freight for damage; counts freight to match with bill of lading. Performs shipment processing, including counting, packaging, weighing and labeling of materials. Load the trucks. Writes orders and maintains staging area. Prepares bill of ladings and other miscellaneous forms, including those for wastepaper trucks. Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including forklift, elevator and stretch wrapper. Prepares shipping documentation (bill of lading, packing slips, etc.) on any urgent last-minute shipments. Coordinates pickup and deliveries with outside carriers. Perform related work as required. Other duties may be assigned.

KNOWELDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percentage and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to read ruler. Knowledge of the metric system is a plus. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
