Location US-IN-Warsaw # Positions 1 Experience (Years) 1 Category Manufacturing Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Cycle Counter to join the Audio Video Division in Warsaw, IN. This position is responsible to perform cycle counts in the production and warehouse according to our program to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy. What Will You Do? Perform inventory counts, research discrepancies and provide process improvements to avoid future discrepancies
Assists in developing solutions for inventory discrepancies
Support material identification and storage activities to facilitate the cycle count process
Reports cycle count results to the Inventory Analyst
Provide proactive communication relating to material status
Drives forklift or material handling equipment as needed when counting material
Ensure thorough and effective communication with internal personnel
Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
Effectively navigate through our warehouse management system when/if necessary
Ensure thorough and effective communication with internal personnel
Assist with other duties within the department and/or other workstations/departments when necessary
Keep the work area clean and organized
Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives
Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.
Qualifications Education:
High school education or equivalent.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to follow directions and follow a process map
Ability to safely operate forklift, hand truck, tape gun and other warehouse equipment
Must be able to work in a fast pace high energy environment
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Basic math skills and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks
Basic computer skills
Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment
Proven ability to make sound decisions within established guidelines
Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management
Strong attention to detail and good follow through skills
Good interpersonal skills
Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality
Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
Prior experience in warehouse/distribution environment
Prior forklift certification or experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of warehouse management systems and processes
Ability to identify basic process improvements
Possess understanding of the KANBAN process
Possess understanding of basic LEAN principles
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands to grasp/manipulate objects. This may include frequent overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 40 lbs. as needed. Also may occasionally include pushing/pulling/lifting up to 40 lbs. Occasionally, depending on the tasks assigned for the day, you may have to sit or stand more or less frequently. Although on a regular basis lifting requirement may not exceed 40 lbs. there may be times when lifting up to 100 lbs. is needed.
Accurate depth perception is required for operating a forklift
Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position
