Job Description

Overview The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory within the automotive manufacturing plant by performing routine cycle counts, verifying material quantities, and ensuring all components and finished goods are properly recorded. This role compares physical inventory to system records and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies and support inventory accuracy across production areas. Responsibilities Responsible for completing cycle counts. Monitors and controls inventory accuracy and integrity. Cycle count materials on production floor, and in the warehouse, as directed by the Inventory Analyst Timely support of ad hoc cycle count requests or other inquiries by Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Finance Investigate variances by completing root cause analysis and working with related departments to resolve issues driving variances, as well as implementing corrective actions to eliminate future problems. Perform random bin maintenance audits and report on the accuracy Ensure materials are in proper locations. Conducts searches to locate misclassified inventory. Key participant in physical inventory counts, including at offsite and third-party warehouse locations Audit all inventory transactions for company-owned material moving to or from a third-party offsite location. Responsible for following all environmental policies, procedures, work instructions and requirements applicable to his or her work, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Responsible for immediately reporting to management all environmental concerns related to work being carried out, as well as, all incidents, which present a hazard to people, production, or the environment. Responsible for being compliant with all Safety, PPE, and 5S requirements. Desired Skills and Experience Education and Experience A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. An associate degree or equivalent work experience and training is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required. Language Skills Ability to read, understand, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write clear and professional reports, business correspondence, and procedural documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and general audiences. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate and interpret figures and measurements such as percentages, concentrations, area, circumference, and volume. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply sound judgment and common sense to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. An associate degree or equivalent work experience and training is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel is required. The employee must be able to consistently lift and move 10-50 lbs. throughout the workday. Work areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, ring and watch covers, belt buckle covers, and gloves. The environment may include wet or humid conditions, vibration, elevated work areas, and proximity to moving mechanical equipment. Noise levels are generally moderate. Appropriate clothing and PPE, including shoes, shirts, and all required chemical‑handling protective gear, must be worn at all times.
