Container Repair Technician (Elmwood)

Container Repair Technician (Elmwood) Job Description This temporary Container Repair Technician position supports a storage warehouse operation by performing hands-on repair, maintenance, and movement of containers while accurately tracking inventory using paper and computer systems. The role is expected to last approximately 8-12 weeks, with an open-ended contract and the possibility of being hired directly, though this is not guaranteed. Responsibilities Inspect storage containers and pods for damage and perform repairs using hand tools and power tools. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with containers and related equipment to restore them to safe, functional condition. Perform general labor tasks in both indoor and outdoor areas of the facility, including moving and positioning containers as needed. Use paper-based logs and computer systems to track container inventory, locations, and movements within the facility. Update inventory records accurately to reflect where pods and containers are stored or relocated. Follow maintenance and repair procedures to ensure containers meet operational and safety standards. Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and maintain a clean, organized work area. Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize container repairs and movements based on operational needs. Work overtime as required to meet workload demands and respond to urgent or emergency needs when they arise. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Orleans, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
