Inventory Control Clerk - Intermediate

Job Summary Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Provides information to determine status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders. Compiles records of amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand. Monitors reorder points, and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories. Notifies supervisor of irregularities and when stock reaches designated reorder point. Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of inventories and computes inventory balances, prices and costs. Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent. 2 - 5 years of experience in position. Applies some advanced skills to the position within assigned functional area. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position. Duties and tasks are frequently nonroutine. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Works under minimal supervision. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt. Required Qualifications• Required Qualifications High School Diploma or

GED. 2 -5

years of experience. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting. Communicates effectively. Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires sitting, some standing and walking lifting of less than 50lb, occasionally more. Desired Qualifications• Knowledge of Purchasing Experience working within a large, complex health care setting. Familiarity with UMHS Marketsite Knowledge of University policies and procedures. Schedule to be determined upon hire.
