Shipping and Receiving Worker Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Worker plays a key role in supporting the shipping department by coordinating the movement, packaging, and loading of parts and equipment. This is a full-time, first-shift position running from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., where you will handle a variety of tasks to ensure accurate and efficient shipping operations and provide occasional support to the assembly department. Responsibilities Operate a forklift (hilo) to down stack and move parts safely from one area to another within the facility. Reorganize and stage parts in designated locations to support efficient shipping and material flow. Package parts securely for shipment, ensuring accuracy, protection, and proper labeling. Assist in loading and unloading trucks, following safe lifting and material handling practices. Build skids and prepare equipment for shipment, including securing items for transport. Support the assembly department as needed with basic general tasks such as cutting chain and installing rollers. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials. Maintain a clean, organized work area and report any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills At least 2 years of recent experience operating a forklift (hilo) in an industrial or warehouse environment. A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience. Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations. Proficiency in basic material handling, including moving, staging, and organizing parts. Ability to safely load and unload trucks and handle various sizes and types of parts and equipment. Capability to perform basic assembly-related tasks such as cutting chain and installing rollers. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging and shipment preparation. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment. Comfort using hand tools and basic equipment for building skids and preparing shipments. Reliability and punctuality to consistently support first-shift operations. Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist in different areas as needed. Why Work Here?
