This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping shipping records accurate, inventory balanced, and production documentation organized. The person in this role will work closely with warehouse, transportation, and production teams to help ensure materials and finished goods move efficiently and customer deliveries stay on track.
Responsibilities:
Prepare shipping packets each day by assembling order information, bills of lading, and related delivery documents. Review trailer availability through routine yard checks and share status updates with transportation and shipping contacts. Organize outbound shipment timing and assign trailers to align with daily production and delivery needs. Maintain accurate records for trailer locations, shipment activity, and warehouse loading progress. Complete shipment processing tasks so invoicing can be issued correctly and on time. Reconcile inventory activity by comparing production movements, shipping transactions, and stock records. Produce and distribute manufacturing paperwork based on schedules, material needs, and inventory status. Perform cycle counts, assist with month-end inventory review, and research variances requiring correction. Set up and maintain item data in the ERP system and create purchase orders for shipping and warehouse supplies. Track operational metrics such as delivery performance, inventory adjustments, trailer usage, and waste service activity. Experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, or warehouse coordination within a manufacturing setting. Working knowledge of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and stock accuracy practices. Ability to prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and order records. Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory and item maintenance tasks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate records. Comfortable communicating with warehouse, production, transportation, and vendor partners throughout the day. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while supporting daily operations.
