Job Description

Responsible for shipping and receiving of the goods coming into and going out of the hospital and for the paperwork associated with those goods. Receives, stores, and issues stock supplies throughout hospital. Receives shipments of supplies, labels and distributes to proper areas. Takes inventory, effectively communicates and interacts with other staff members, all other departments and department employees. High School graduate or equivalent. Must have good written verbal, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to follow instructions read and communicate routine information. Must be able to work reliably from written instructions. Computer skills needed. A valid Ohio diver's license. Should be physically and emotionally able to handle irregular hours and stressful situations with minimal absences. The position requires coordination, corrected vision, hearing, the use of two hands and feet, the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, twisting, reaching, pushing and lifting items exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and /or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and /or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The position requires the successful completion of a medical examination after offer of hire has been made. The position requires the employee to be free of all unlawful substances and alcohol. The position requires a tolerance of stressful work environment where variable workloads must be completed within a prescribed time frame using fixed staff resources.
