Outcomes:

In this role, you will: Ensure the timely and accurate receipt of supplier shipments, including shelf-ready products. Organize supporting documents and maintain accurate records of received shipments. Manage dock operations, ensuring cleanliness, security, and efficient loading and unloading of trucks. Perform proactive inventory control tasks, such as cycle counts, bin transfers, product labeling, and inventory corrections.

Responsibilities:

Perform the unloading of supplier shipments, ensuring products are received in good condition and promptly moved to the appropriate staging area. Digitally document the receipt of supplier shipments, accurately recording relevant information and verifying shelf-ready products. Organize supporting documents, such as packing slips and invoices, for accurate record-keeping and easy retrieval when needed. Conduct put-away activities, ensuring received products are promptly stored in their designated locations. Sort incoming returns and non-supplier shipment mail or packages, directing them to the appropriate departments or teams. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dock area, ensuring it is free from obstacles and potential hazards. Monitor and enforce door security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to the dock area and safeguard incoming shipments. Coordinate the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy, identify discrepancies, and reconcile inventory records. Perform bin transfers, ensuring products are moved to their correct storage locations as needed. Label products accurately to facilitate easy identification and retrieval during picking and packing processes. Collaborate with inventory control teams to make necessary inventory corrections, such as updating quantities or adjusting product statuses. Adhere to established safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a secure and hazard-free work environment. Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, warehouse, and inventory management. Stay updated on receiving procedures, supplier requirements, and industry best practices to maintain efficient operations. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and suggest ideas to enhance receiving efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus. Proven experience in receiving, inventory control, or related roles within a warehouse or distribution center environment. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document information and recognize product discrepancies. Proficiency in using inventory management systems or software for receiving and inventory control tasks. Basic knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as lifting and moving packages or containers. Familiarity with receiving procedures, supplier shipment requirements, and inventory control best practices.
