Job Summary Material Handling Technician I role encompasses four different indirect labor positions: Receiving, Shipping, Parts Warehouse, and Driver.
Receiving:
Responsible for verifying counts of incoming and outgoing materials, receiving purchase orders, distributing products to required departments, and moving parts to appropriate work centers.
Shipping :
Responsible for pulling, packing and preparing finished good for final shipping to customers; refilling product bins with incoming inventory; and receiving product into the warehouse.
Parts Warehouse:
Responsible for issuing manufacturing orders for Production. This includes issuing kits to final assembly and maintaining accuracy of component parts. In addition, responsible for maintaining inventory of knife components.
Driver:
Responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials between warehouse locations within a specific timeframe. The driver will drive box truck safely and responsibly to and from company locations. They will load and unload materials and finished goods from a truck individually or as part of a team, verifying and transacting loads for accuracy. Job Functions Manage inventory electronically using Syspro MRP system (and other computer applications). Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock; records location of inventory. Perform cycle counts of inventory. Provides excellent service to customers (internal stakeholders) and vendors. Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely to move parts and inventory to proper locations. Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; and able to identify when lock out, tag out is appropriate. Display keen awareness to safety guidelines, procedures, and policies; and ability to identify and report safety concerns. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Support on-going reporting of key performance metrics. Display job specific competency as defined by training proficiency matrixes. Contributes ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Material Handling Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 3-4 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Equivalency or the qualification standard will also be considered. Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to noise, coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, automated and manual machinery) wearing PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, and Kevlar gloves). Familiarity with MRP systems and performing inventory transactions. Basic understanding of inventory controls and cycle counting. Strong computer and data entry skills required (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Good verbal and written communication skills, with co-workers, internal customers and vendors. Demonstrate great attendance, punctuality, and time sensitivity. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task accurately. Quality-conscious individual with excellent attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines. Works well in a collaborative and positive team environment. Forklift certification preferred. Additional Qualifications for

A valid Drivers' license with a clean driving record (CDL is not required). Ability to follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and /or agency rules, standards, and guidelines. At least 25 years old (at time of application) due to insurance requirements. Working Conditions common to
