Position:
The Warehouse Storekeeper supports the operation and maintenance of the warehouse section of the Facilities Management Department. The duties and tasks reflect receipt and disbursement of inventory, monitoring stock levels, generation of inventory control documents, performing inventory counts, tool and equipment control tracking, and data entry of parts and inventory in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Working near moving mechanical parts Fumes, smoke, or airborne particles Hazardous materials Operating light/heavy equipment Outdoor environment Working in high places Operating power tools/machinery
Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Receiving and Distribution Actions:
Receives, identifies, verifies, stores and/or distributes all incoming material, and parts and equipment for Facilities Management according to established procedures; Resolves receiving and distribution issues, including discrepancies, defectives, and returns; and Ensures thorough, accurate and complete receipt processing including receipt log maintenance and user notification of product arrivals. Inventory Control Performs tasks required to maintain inventory control, which includes keeping accurate and up to date inventory records, and monitoring stock levels; Notifies users of stock and non-stock order arrivals to ensure prompt distribution; Maintains up to date records of receipts, and stock and non-stock item issues; and Keeps warehouse neat and organized at all times. Equipment Control Performs tasks required to maintain control of tool crib and durable items cage for issue to shops, zones, or individuals.
Tasks include:
Issues and receives tools and durable items; Sustains related controls and logs; Maintains cage neat and organized at all times; and Ensures attention to detail in the arrangement, organization, and issuance of all secured property, and accurate maintenance of all associated records. Other Duties as Assigned Performs other duties as assigned to maintain warehouse or facilities operations such as, but not limited to: Inclement weather duty, general service support to departments, and university event support actions; Provides outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers by considering how actions or plans will affect customers, and follows through on responsibilities to customers; Responds with appropriate urgency, flexibility, courtesy, and good judgment to meet customer needs and resolve problems; Identifies and initiates actions to support the mission and objectives, and to resolve or avoid problems; Maintains high credibility to accomplish objectives; Follows safety policies and procedures, and identifies and corrects safety hazards; Follows general university policies and procedures that are related to data stewardship and information technology security; and Safeguards sensitive and confidential data, both in electronic and physical form.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; Must be able to become certified in forklift operation; and Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/.
