Job Description

Matern Staffing is hiring an Inventory Control Associate for a global defense technology company in Stafford, VA. The Inventory Control Associate supports mission-critical operations by ensuring accurate inventory tracking, receiving incoming materials, and maintaining precise control of material flow within the warehouse and production areas. This role helps ensure the right components are available at the right time to support the build and delivery of advanced defense technology. This is a direct hire opportunity best suited for a dependable, punctual professional who is eager to learn, works with attention to detail, and takes pride in supporting high-quality operations. U.S. citizenship is required due to client/government contract requirements.

$19-$20/hr

TBD What You'll Do:
Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips Accurately record inventory transactions in ERP or inventory management systems Manage material flow including receiving, put-away, storage, staging, and issue to production Ensure proper labeling, storage location accuracy, and compliance with FIFO, lot control, and traceability requirements Support physical inventories and identify obsolete, excess, or damaged materials for reporting Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment in accordance with 5S, safety, and quality standards
What You'll Need:
U.S. citizenship is required due to client/government contract requirements High school diploma or GED 1+ year experience in warehouse, receiving, inventory control or manufacturing environment inclusive of inspecting incoming shipments Excellent problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Basic math and data entry skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with inventory management or ERP systems Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 Business Center Experience with cycle counts, audits, receiving and discrepancy resolution Forklift certification or ability to obtain a certification Knowledge of FIFO, lot control, or lean manufacturing concepts
