Job Title:
Material Control Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Material Control Operator who will provide accurate inventory information for material stock. You will be responsible for monitoring, organizing, and maintaining inventory of company products at multiple branch locations while collaborating with a diverse team. Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts. Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties. Enter inventory data into a computer system. Record data manually using a clipboard. Load and unload metal materials, both manually and with a forklift. Complete material receiving activities for shipments. Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing. Operate material handling equipment to support material movement. Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system. Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags. Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket. Identify material shortages and issues and communicate them to staff. Perform verification of scrap. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits. Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean-up. Essential Skills 1.5 years of forklift experience. Basic data entry skills for tracking inventory. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills for data entry into inventory management systems. Ability to use tape measure and calipers for material inspection/measurement. Certification to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, side-loader, cherry-picker). Additional Skills & Qualifications 3 years of material control or inventory experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Strong attendance and work history. Attention to detail and ability to work on your feet. Experience with paperwork and chain of custody. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. This fast-paced environment hosts over 60 employees on the floor. The primary work hours are Monday to Thursday from 4am to 2:30pm. The facility is located in Auburn, WA. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.70 - $22.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
