JOB SUMMARY A
Sheridan Memorial Hospital Supply Chain Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of medical supplies, equipment, and materials within the hospital and clinic setting, ensuring that staff have the right items at the right time. The Supply Chain Clerk should exhibit curiosity to learn and memorize information, as well as add efficiencies into daily tasks and overall processes. They should possess a strong work ethic, as the daily work is very active and requires some heavy lifting, and be willing to work in varying weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Receiving & Inspection:
Assist with receiving and inspection of incoming shipments for condition, completeness and discrepancies
Storage & Organization:
Stock supplies in the storerooms and in units; maintain orderly storage, labeling and cleanliness in the storeroom and assigned units
Inventory Management:
Participate in inventory cycle counts and perform spot checks; track stock levels and par levels
Distribution:
Make scheduled and unscheduled deliveries to departments and nursing stations; load and unload supply carts
Ordering & Requisitions:
Assist with processing non-stock item requisitions; place special orders; maintain accurate inventory records
Documentation:
Enter receiving and issue data into inventory software; input, track and maintain expirations in storeroom, clinical and support departments
Shipping:
Collect shipments and assist with sending shipments out in a timely manner
Communication:
Polite, professional and complete interaction and communication (verbal and written) with clinical, support staff, patients and visitors
Handling:
Safe operation of equipment, including automobile, forklift, postage machine, floor cleaner, pallet jack, box cutters and printers
Shipping:
Collect and ship mail, packages and equipment
Teamwork:
Work cohesively with Supply Chain's team of Clerks, Buyers and Receivers to complete daily tasks and project work Education / Experience / License and Certifications Minimum of High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required Valid driver's license required; must meet insurability requirements. Basic math skills for inventory calculations Read, speak and write/type in English Familiarity with supply chain management software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required.
