We are a group of engineers, scientists, roboticists, and company builders developing foundation models and learning algorithms to power the robots of today and the physically-actuated devices of the future. The Team This role sits within the hardware operations org. You'll be the first dedicated inventory specialist at PI, partnering daily with the build team to keep workstations stocked and assembly operations moving. The infrastructure is already in place — laser label maker, bins, cabinets, QR code tracking software — so you're walking into a clean setup with real ownership from day one.
In This Role You Will Parts Procurement:
Source and purchase hardware components — including fasteners, mechanical and electronic parts — to support ongoing robot assembly operations
Inventory Management:
Track and maintain accurate inventory records using QR code software, including part counts, bin locations, and reorder points across bulk and line-side stock
Receiving & Outgoing:
Process incoming shipments, verify against purchase orders, label and bin parts accurately, and manage outgoing materials requests
Kitting Support:
Prepare and stage parts kits for assembly workflows based on weekly demand planning rather than per-build kitting cycles
System Development:
Help develop and refine part numbering systems, organizational structures, and inventory processes on a clean-slate operation that can grow without over-engineering
Scaling Readiness:
Maintain organized systems capable of scaling from current inventory (under 10,000 parts across 5-6 products) as new product lines are added What We Hope You'll Bring Demonstrated experience managing parts inventory with moderate complexity — hundreds to thousands of SKUs — and the ability to point to where you've done it successfully Familiarity with part numbering systems and inventory tracking software (QR/barcode systems, spreadsheets, or dedicated inventory platforms) Computer literacy and comfort with procurement workflows, purchase orders, and basic supply chain processes Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail — the kind of person who notices when something is out of place and fixes it 9-5 availability; parts arrive during business hours and consistent presence is important for receiving and restocking Bonus Points Experience in a hardware startup, robotics, or fast-paced manufacturing environment Background combining procurement, receiving, and inventory tracking in a single generalist role Familiarity with supply chain concepts like demand planning, safety stock, and supplier lead times Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
