Job Description:
This role handles highly confidential financial and operational information and is expected to exercise a high level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Revenue Recognition - Percentage of Completion (POC) Manage revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP using the percentage-of-completion method . Maintain and review WIP schedules, including costs incurred, estimated costs to complete, and earned revenue. Partner with Project Managers to validate project progress, forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates. Identify revenue recognition risks, project overruns, and forecast variances; communicate findings to leadership. Support internal and external audits related to project accounting and revenue recognition. Leadership & Collaboration Provide project cost, inventory, and financial data to managers and departments to support operational decisions. Identify and escalate potential issues related to project costs, inventory, or internal controls. Oversee training and documentation related to project cost accounting and inventory transactions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Project Management, and Leadership. Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or higher). Minimum 4+ years of project or cost accounting experience in a construction, manufacturing, or project-based environment. Experience with percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition. Hands-on experience with Sage 100 Inventory Management Software. Strong knowledge of GAAP, project accounting, WIP reporting, and inventory valuation. Advanced analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Prior supervisory or lead experience. Experience supporting audits and interacting with external auditors. Construction, fabrication, or engineering services industry experience.
