AM Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely inventory levels within the warehouse. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory procedures, data analysis, and vendor coordination. The role supports operational efficiency, cost control, and inventory accuracy. Duties/Responsibilities o Maintain accurate inventory records, including daily tracking, audits, and adjustments. o Analyze inventory reports to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities. o Implement and utilize inventory control systems such as barcoding or RFID. o Collaborate with vendors and purchasing to maintain stock accuracy and compliance. o Conduct financial analysis to reduce waste and optimize inventory levels. o Use software (e.g., Nielsen) to track sales data and adjust inventory as needed. o Coordinate with internal departments to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies. o Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, as needed to support inventory activities. o Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
o Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors. o Basic understanding of inventory control procedures and warehouse processes. o Keyboarding and data entry proficiency. o Organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently. o Professional demeanor and ability to build vendor relationships. o Basic math and analytical problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent required. o Experience with computerized inventory systems required. o Forklift operator certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
o Frequent walking and standing on concrete warehouse floors. o Ability to work in cold storage environments. o Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. o Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and retrieve inventory from various warehouse levels.
