Responsibilities:
We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Inventory Control Specialist works in the Shipping and Receiving Facility (SRF) to ensure we manage the assets (hardware and software) and complete required deliverables to support the customer's mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise wide.
Responsibilities:
You will ensure a complete and accurate inventory of all assets and licenses acquired or deployed into production environments. The current inventory includes over 50,000 hardware units, and the inventory. You will be part of the team that maintains an official record of hardware and software assets and warranty information. This includes tracking, decommissioning, and recording the location of inventory distributed to customer personnel. You will perform all in-processing activities, such as opening shipments, conducting acceptance testing for
COTS/GOTS
items, coordinating with vendors to replace damaged items, and ensuring compliant assets are securely stored. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset life cycle, ensuring that software end-of-life is included, including reconciliation activities, report generation, trend analysis, periodic inventory reviews, and operational compliance support.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The following are the education and experience required for this position: 2+ years Associate's or equivalent Secret Security Clearance
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions: Sitting for long periods Standing for long periods Ambulate throughout an office Ambulate between several buildings Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds Travel by land or air transportation 10 % .
