Full Job Description Warehouse Inventory Specialist Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining records of materials in inventory, initiating action to reconcile discrepancies and utilizing analytical skills to improve quality and inventory accuracy.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibility for proficiency in inventory control through use of Inventory Software (Dakota), including receiving, warehouse inventory handling (put-away, picks, and movements) item card setup, lot tracking, item transfers, physical inventory and item journals. Responsible for the input of data into various statistical spreadsheets. Effectively communicate with Operations department to ensure a comprehensive understanding of all inventory movement (receiving, sorting, distribution, internal transfers, etc.) Submit required reports to internal and external customers. Update reports to relevant departments with any discrepancies, their root cause, and recommendations for improvement. Assist outside storage facilities with reporting and data collection. Understand the personal responsibility to follow all safety policies and health rules, programs, and procedures. Always report safety issues, incidents and accidents immediately. Assist in verifying food safety standards are met for products and packaging materials through visual inspection, product handling and temperature monitoring when applicable. Complete and perform follow-through on activities and documentation when necessary. Through lot expiration process, manage FEFO (First Expiration First Out) process. Track inventory levels and work with other departments to control the distribution of product on a timely basis. Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventory Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis Lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment Other duties as assigned. Able to work in Multiple tempurture environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Requires High School Diploma or equivalent High Attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel Excellent written and communication skills Strong independent worker Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Experience in data collection and analysis Ability to work with diverse groups and be a part of a team Familiarity with a warehouse environment a plus Alternating weekend work required
