CITITRENDS
is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support accurate inventory reporting, store physical inventory processing, in-transit review, and inventory-related analysis. This role prepares and maintains key reconciliation files, research inventory movement, supports cleanup and claims activities, and provides insights that help reduce shrink, resolve discrepancies, and improve inventory control processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ OUTCOMES
Process store physical inventories by creating required folders and files, preparing workbooks, completing Store Physical Inventory reconciliation workbooks, saving and documenting files, and notifying the Inventory Control Manager when work is complete. Review and process in-transit inventory for stores scheduled for inventory counts, including pulling upcoming in-transit activity, reviewing UPS tracking data, acknowledging delivered items, researching open items, and escalating C&P status items that should be received after count to the DC Inventory Control Supervisor. Maintain and improve training materials by reviewing role-specific documents annually with the Inventory Control Manager and Director of Inventory Control. Support additional inventory control activities as assigned by the Inventory Control Manager and Director of Inventory Control, including claims preparation, DC support, and analysis related to store overages and shrinkages. Prepare inventory insights and solution options by reviewing store overage/shrinkage trends, identifying root causes, and developing recommended options for management review. Maintain and analyze inventory reports, including recent physical inventory results, company shrink reporting, and shrink performance by division and department. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand documents such as general correspondence, department reports and office procedures. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the company. Strong critical thinking skills to analyze inventory discrepancies and implement effective solutions. Attention to detail and accuracy in data management. Proficient computer skills, including the ability to effectively use Outlook and Excel. Solid math skills for accurately calculating inventory data and reconciling discrepancies. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments. Adaptability and willingness to take on additional duties as needed to support evolving processes and business needs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and reporting preferred.
