Traffic Manager Avondale Terminal Services has become integral to HOST's continued efforts of shifting the transportation paradigm and rethinking how cargo moves - providing exceptional service and solutions to our customers.
Position Summary:
HOST seeks a dynamic, operations-minded specialist to serve as a liaison between our customer support, operations, and scale teams. Working with a myriad of personalities in a fast-paced environment where daily activities will vary widely. In this position, the specialist will play an important role be supporting the customer service, traffic, and operations teams to ensure smooth and successful operations.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Inventory, Scale House Operations, and Compliance Coordinate internal inventory audits, including cycle counts and physical inventories. Assist third-party auditors and clients during their inspections, providing necessary support and documentation. Prepare and file all audit-related documentation in NetSuite and SharePoint Analyze audit findings, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to management. Assist with client inventory reconciliations. Serve as the main liaison for the Terminal Manager regarding random stock checks and audit-related paperwork. Assist with the input and distribution of customer inventory systems Understand and utilize various shipping methods, including knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Assist with the creation and maintenance of packing list templates for vessels, barges, rail, and trucks. Understand warehouse audit processes and procedures to assist with inventory audits. Reconcile NetSuite transactions and analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Work directly with management to provide updates on stock inflow and outflow. Communicate any inventory adjustments to the Traffic Team based on audit findings. Assist the Traffic Manager with process improvement projects and root cause analysis. Provide support within Scale House operations, including scheduling and coverage to assist with overtime reduction when needed Provide exceptional customer service by effectively addressing and resolving a wide range of customer inquiries and complaints. Specifically, this includes expertise in handling issues related to billing, trucking, container management, and inventory. Utilize strong problem-solving and communication skills to identify root causes of customer issues and implement effective solutions. Build and maintain positive customer relationships through proactive communication and a customer-centric approach
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Candidate must be proactive, flexible, and a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple activities in a fast-paced work environment. Must have extensive formula experience in Excel Must be able to manage the varied tasks associated with multiple projects. Superb organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize, work independently, be extremely detailed oriented, and be forward-thinking.
Process Improvement Oriented Preferred:
Degree in supply chain and logistics or related fields
Physical Requirements:
Must meet "fit for duty" requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test) The employee must meet physical requirements. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
