We are seeking a motivated, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient operating room. This is a highly active position requiring continuous movement throughout the day. The role involves disinfecting operating rooms and surgical equipment between surgical procedures, assisting with intraoperative imaging using our Large C-arm mobile X-ray unit, and supporting supply management by receiving and stocking surgical supplies. Primary Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms and surgical equipment after each procedure. This is the primary responsibility of the position. Ensure rapid, efficient operating room turnover to maintain the daily surgical schedule. Move, assemble, and position surgical equipment in preparation for upcoming procedures. Assist the surgical team with positioning and operating the Large C-arm mobile X-ray unit during surgical procedures (training provided as needed). Work closely with the Charge Nurse and OR Manager to prioritize daily assignments and operating room readiness. Receive, unpack, organize, and stock sterile surgical supplies and linens throughout the facility. Rotate inventory using first-expiring, first-out (FEFO) practices to maintain proper stock management. Restock operating rooms and clinical areas during downtime between surgical cases. Transport equipment, instruments, soiled linens, and waste to designated decontamination areas following established infection prevention protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all infection control, safety, and radiation protection standards. Perform all duties independently while effectively prioritizing responsibilities throughout the day. Operating Room Turnover Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Disinfect all operating room furniture and equipment, including operating tables, surgical tables, anesthesia machines and carts, warming units, tourniquet equipment, X-ray equipment, cords, tubing, foot pedals, positioning devices, chairs, pillows, carts, and other equipment used during the procedure. Mop floors and replace linens, trash bags, and protective coverings. Prepare the operating room for the next scheduled procedure by positioning required equipment, including C-arm or Mini C-arm imaging units, lead shielding, specialized positioning devices, bed attachments, leg holders, gel rolls, and other procedure-specific equipment. Transport soiled instruments, contaminated equipment, soiled linens, and regulated waste to the designated decontamination area in accordance with infection prevention protocols.. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position requiring standing and walking throughout the entire shift. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and maneuvering large surgical equipment. Qualifications Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and willingness to work as part of a team.
