Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management, specifically focusing on the transition of finished and non-finished goods from the production floor to designated warehouse storage locations and back to the production floor for as needed for finishing/quality review. This role involves meticulous labeling, accurate data entry, and precise placement of inventory to maintain real-time inventory accuracy and optimize warehouse space utilization using IQMS systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive goods from the production floor, verifying quantities and product specifications against production orders and documentation. Inspect received goods for quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel. Generate and apply accurate labels to all received inventory, ensuring compliance with company labeling standards and barcode systems. Verify label accuracy against production records and system data. Determine appropriate warehouse storage locations based on product type, size, storage requirements, and inventory management system guidelines. Efficiently allocate and assign inventory to designated locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring proper product flow. Accurately enter inventory data into the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system, including quantities, locations, and product details. Communicate effectively with production personnel, warehouse staff, and inventory management teams to ensure smooth inventory flow. Collaborate with team members to resolve inventory discrepancies and address operational issues. Provide feedback to leadership regarding labeling or packaging issues that affect the receiving process. Meet safety and housekeeping expectations. Maintain company attendance standards, including weekend work as assigned and adhering to daily work schedules. Report food safety concerns to management. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization, and may assist in training other team members.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
Experience with barcode scanning and RFID technology. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with forklift or pallet jack operation (if required). Familiarity with ERP systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Superior attention to detail and accuracy. Strong computer skills in Microsoft suite and ERP experience required. Capability to solve complex problems, utilizing strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Superior organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Excellent interpersonal skills and consultative approach; tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Strong sense of urgency, self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Display highest ethical standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid conditions and heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock and exposure to extreme molten plastic temperature. The employee is frequently exposed to height of 8-10 feet and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
