Must be available Saturdays and Sundays during peak seasons About Us We are a well‑established garden center dedicated to providing exceptional plants, knowledgeable service, and inspiring outdoor spaces. We are seeking a motivated Garden Center Sales & Inventory Specialist with strong horticultural knowledge and a passion for trees, shrubs, and perennials. Job Summary The Garden Center Sales & Inventory Specialist supports customers with plant selection, care advice, and simple landscape design ideas while also managing inventory, vendor sourcing, and purchasing. This role blends horticultural expertise, customer engagement, and operational responsibility. Key Responsibilities Assist customers with selecting trees, shrubs, and perennials , including care, placement, and landscape combinations. Create and maintain attractive plant displays and landscape vignette arrangements. Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service in a fast‑paced seasonal environment. Maintain plant health through watering, pruning, grooming, and monitoring quality. Restock, merchandise, tag, and organize plant material. Operate POS systems and assist with checkout as needed. Perform basic administrative tasks using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Keep sales areas clean, organized, and visually appealing. Inventory & Purchasing Responsibilities Monitor inventory levels to ensure appropriate stock throughout the season. Source and maintain relationships with trusted nursery vendors and growers . Place purchase orders based on demand, quality, availability, and seasonal timing. Review inventory reports and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing plant material. Analyze sales trends, seasonal patterns, and historical demand to guide buying decisions. Taper purchasing based on projected demand and prior sales history. Prevent overstock situations and ensure efficient inventory turnover. Communicate with management regarding upcoming deliveries, shortages, or special‑order needs. Qualifications Strong knowledge of trees, shrubs, and perennials , including horticulture and landscape use. Ability to design simple, balanced plant combinations and landscape vignettes. Experience with inventory monitoring, vendor communication, or purchasing (preferred). Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Able to lift 25-50 lbs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite . Strong communication and customer service skills. Required weekend availability during peak seasons. Prior garden center, nursery, or landscape experience preferred.Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per weekBenefits:
