Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will oversee the management and optimization of inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations, ensuring seamless stock control, accurate data analysis, and efficient order fulfillment. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, procurement, and data analytics will be instrumental in driving process improvements and supporting our company's operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in supply chain management, negotiation, and materials handling, contributing to the overall efficiency of our inventory processes. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels through comprehensive demand planning and stock analysis, utilizing tools such as ERP systems, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL. Conduct root cause analysis to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies within inventory data or warehouse operations, implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials effectively, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to track stock movements, coordinate shipping & receiving activities, and optimize storage solutions. Lead process improvement initiatives focused on inventory control, materials handling, and logistics efficiency to enhance overall warehouse performance. Analyze sales trends and retail data from Nielsen or similar sources to inform stocking strategies and demand forecasting. Support production planning by coordinating with manufacturing teams to ensure materials availability while minimizing excess inventory. Manage 3PL (third-party logistics) providers for order fulfillment, shipping & receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Develop data visualizations using Power BI or Tableau to present inventory analytics for executive decision-making. Assist in financial modeling related to pricing strategies, procurement costs, and inventory valuation for better financial analysis. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or inventory control within a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle, and AS400 systems. Proficiency in data analysis tools including SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Nielsen data sources. Demonstrated ability in negotiation, supplier management, and contract development. Familiarity with demand planning methodologies, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and logistics operations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvements. Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; forklift certification is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across procurement, retail management, production planning, and logistics teams.
